PRC Rifles, they aren’t new, but we build them and will explain what each is designated for one by one. Today, lets dive into the wildcat of them all, the 6PRC.
The lesser know cartridge of them all is the 6mm PRC. Some call it a 6-6.5 PRC, as it uses the same case as the 6.5 PRC, just necked down to 6mm.
The shop rifle with a 20″ barrel yields 3560 fps with a 95gr Berger Classic Hunter bullet.
The primary goal for the 6mm PRC is predator/coyote hunting. Energy from the 95gr bullet is over 2670ft/lbs at the muzzle and 1400ft/lbs at 500yds. Compare that to a 6mm Creedmoor with the same bullet, its 1935ft/lbs at the muzzle and 960ft/lbs at 500 yards.
The drop on the 6 PRC is pretty impressive too. at 300yds it drops only 5 inches making it a very good cartridge for thermal hunting.
The rifle specs are as follows:
Short action with a magnum bolt face
20″ Spade Composites carbon fiber barrel 1-9 twist
Grayboe Phoenix 2 stock in GAP Splash Camo
M5 bottom metal with a 5rd magazine
We’ll be posting up on social media channels and showing it off at the range and in the field this early fall.
